Mrs. Bernice Ruffin funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from First Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Kim Yarber, Pastor. Rev. Robert O. White, officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. Hudson Funeral Services, Greenville, Alabama directing. Berneice was born October 14, 1949 in Butler County to the late Martha Harris and Willie Powell. She was the youngest of her four siblings. At an early age she accepted Christ and became a member of First Missionary Baptist Church serving faithfully for many years. She later united with Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Magazine, Alabama. Years later she re-united with her home church where she remained until her passing. She received her high school education from Southside High School graduating in 1968, after graduating she started on her mission in Nursing, she received a LPN degree from the Greenville Nursing Home. She later received a Associates Degree in Applied Science in Nursing from S.D. Bishop State Jr. College in Mobile, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her brother, W. Ira Powell. Mrs. Berneice leaves to cherish her memories Two children: Charlene Stone, Greenville, AL; Justin (Convonta) Stone, Huntsville, AL; a loving grand-daughter, Miracle Chariah Stone additionally, she leaves a host of cherish loving brothers and sisters: (6) sisters, Jerry Lee McKee, Greenville, AL; Louetta Scott, Willie Mae (Dee) Crittenden, Sarah Powell, all of Augusta, GA; Mollie (Ronald) Thewell, Violet Jackson, both of Pensacola, FL; Betty (Cleve) Lewis, Indianapolis, IN; (4) brothers, Jimmy (Margaret) Powell, . Montgomery, AL; Norleisha McMeans, Terrilyn Jackson, Greenville, AL; also a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. and friends.
