SPECIAL TO THE ADVOCATE

The Georgiana Garden Club will celebrate Arbor Day at the Log Cabin Thursday, Feb. 23 at 1 p.m.

Being honored are local Forest Specialist Steve Perdue, Paul Huggins, Jeremy Lowery and Conservation Enforcement officer Mike McNeil and the NGC Youth Essay, poetry and Smokey Bear/Woodsy Owl winners. Smokey Bear will also be present to hand out goodie bags. A flowering tree will be planted in their honor.

Taking part in the program will be Mayor Mike Middleton, McKenize Principal Randy Williams, Georgiana Principal Ward Thigpen, Rev. Allen Stephenson and special guest and singers.

Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
