Sen. Shelby to visit Butler County Monday

U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) will hold a town hall meeting in Butler County Monday.

Shelby will address the legislative agenda for the second session of the 112th Congress as well as important issues facing the nation and the state of Alabama. Following his remarks, Shelby will open the floor to questions and comments from those in attendance.

“Over the years, these meetings have provided an excellent opportunity for area residents to listen and voice their opinions on the activities of our government,” Shelby said. “This will be a great chance to discuss the important issues facing our state and our nation.”

The meeting, which marks Shelby’s 1,700th county visit since being elected, will be held at the Hank Williams, Sr. Museum located at 127 Rose Street in Georgiana. It is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
