Funeral services for the late Mrs. Eddie Lee McKee will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. from Greenwood COGIC, Elder LoEarl Flowers, officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. Hudson Funeral Services, Greenville, Alabama directing.

Mrs. Eddie Lee McKee fell asleep in death at the amazing age of 93 in her hometown of Greenville, Alabama on Saturday, December 24, 2011, due to natural causes.

Born August 7, 1918, to Ethel Hilson and Ed Gross of Greenville, Alabama, she lived and worked in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before retiring and returning to her roots in Greenville, Alabama where she lived out her final days surrounded by her family. Eddie was preceded in death by Leroy McKee (husband), Etta Ruth McKee (daughter), Willie J. Gross, (brother), Daisy Lee Dean (daughter) and Mary Earl Cook (daughter).

She is left to be mourned by Martha Thorpe (daughter) Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, grand children to great-great grandchildren spanning four generations and several nieces. She will be remembered fondly as “Jackie” or “Big Mama Jack”, “Bip” and “Cupcake” as she was nicknamed by her grandchildren to whom she always gave generously. Her presence will be greatly missed.
