Ashley Vansant, president and publisher of Greenville Newspapers, LLC, publisher of The Greenville Advocate and affiliated publications in Crenshaw and Lowndes counties, has been named president and publisher of Washington Newsmedia, LLC, publisher of The Washington Daily News in Washington, N.C.

Greenville Newspapers, LLC and Washington Newsmedia, LLC are part of the Boone Newspapers, Inc. organization of Tuscaloosa.

“The decision to accept the opportunity in Washington was difficult,” Vansant said. “Greenville is a wonderful place to call home. My family cherishes the many friendships we have built here the last three and a half years.”

During Vansant’s tenure, The Greenville Advocate was honored with three consecutive General Excellence awards by the Alabama Press Association.

“It’s been an honor to work alongside the talented and professional staff at Greenville Newspapers. This group is dedicated to serving our readers, advertisers and community.”

Vansant begins work in Washington Wednesday.
