George Floyd Brantley, 82, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 8, 2011.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Home in Georgiana, AL. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday at the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at EastSide Baptist Church.

Mr. Brantley was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lucy Brantley; brothers Clarence Brantley, Elmo Brantley, Emory Brantley and Frank Brantley; sisters Lura (Elmore) Mixon and Valeria (Steve) Brown.

Mr. Brantley is survived by two daughters: Gayle (Alex) Weathers and Joyce Brantley (Connie Covan); Grandchildren Crystal (Andy) Bozeman, Justin (Candace) Garner, John Michael Terry, and Paul Alexander Weathers, III; 8 Great-grandchildren. Online condolences may be made at www.johnsongeorgiana.com.
