The Butler County Democratic Party has set its qualifying dates for the upcoming primary elections.

The party announced that qualifying for local and statewide races will begin Dec. 3 and end Jan. 13 at 5 p.m.

The Alabama primary is scheduled for March 13.

A number of local races will take place during the upcoming elections. Races on the local level include circuit judge, circuit clerk and the five seats on the Butler County Commission.

At the state level, races for several appellate court slots, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and chairman of the Public Service Commission.

The upcoming election season will also include a race for President.
