Ila Mae Davis a resident of Georgiana, Al passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011 at the age of 86. She was born in the Brushey Creek community and lived her adult life in the Avant community. She leaves to cherish her memory her only child, Peggy (Bernie) Jinks, Sulphur, La; Grand Son: Randall (Beverly) Hooks, Sulphur, La; Great Grand Children: John Randall Hooks and Jenna Elizabeth Hooks, both of Sulphur, La; Brother: Ray (Ruby) Lowery, Georgiana, Al; Sister: Rosa Pearl  Burkett, PineApple, Al; She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Davis and grandson, Michael Hooks, parents, Oscar and Leona Lowery, brothers, O.C. Lowery and Woodrow Lowery, sisters, Ola Lee Ward and Agnes Peavy. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011 at Union Cemetery with Rev. Randy Harvill officiating. Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana, Al directing arrangements. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Georgiana Hospital for making her comfortable and well being in her final days.
