Veterans Day celebrations set for county

From north to south, Crenshaw County will be celebrating Veterans Day this Thursday and Friday with a number of city and school programs.

The City of Luverne will be holding their program on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Veterans’ Park on Highway 331 and First Avenue.

Attendees may park in the LHS parking lot and ride a bus to and from the park.

Following the ceremony, there will be a reception at the Luverne Public Library featuring refreshments and a Missing Man Table and Soldiers’ Cross memorial.

Local schools are also planning Veterans Day celebrations.

Luverne High School’s ceremony is Thursday morning at 9 a.m. with a reception beforehand at 8:30 a.m. in the library.

Highland Home’s is set for Thursday at 10 a.m., and Brantley’s will be at 10:30 a.m.

CCA’s will be held on Friday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. in the gym.
