Karen P. Merritt and Dickey Merritt of Enterprise, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Ashlynn Merritt, to Steven Kyle Tucker, Jr., the son of Jodie and Steve Tucker of Honoraville, Ala.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Rita Parker and late P.L. Parker of Clayhatchee, Ala., and Mildred Merritt and late David Merritt of Geneva, Ala.

She is a 2008 graduate of Enterprise High School and is majoring in marketing at Troy University.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Glenda and James Tucker of Honoraville, Ala., and Mary Jim Collins of Greenville, the late Mickey L. Collins of Chapmanville, W. Va., and B.J. Dailey of Fort Walton, Fla.

He is a 2008 graduate of Highland Home High School and is majoring in Business Information Systems at Troy University.

He is employed at Airtek Construction, Inc.

The wedding will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012.
