Gymnastics team takes first place

The Level 3 competitive gymnastics team from Greenville Gymnastics earned a first-place finish at the first ever Bama Bounders Beach Bash in Orange Beach, Ala.
The Bama Bounders, a competitive gymnastics team from Tuscaloosa, held the event to raise money for the tornado relief efforts in Tuscaloosa.
Greenville’s Level 3 team members include Emily Grace Turner, Hollan Helms, Jamilyn Wright and Jasmine Raybon, all from Luverne, and Bridget Tindal from Greenville.
Raybon set a Greenville Gymnastics record with a score of 9.9 on the vault, which earned her a first-place finish at the event. She also claimed third-place finishes in floor exercise and the all-around.
Helms finished in second place on bars with a 9.35, and third on both the balance beam and the all-around.
Turner earned a fifth-place finish in floor exercises with a 9.15 and a sixth-place finish in the all-around. Wright claimed second place on the bars and third in the all-around.
Mary Avery Keen and Sydney Folds finished fourth in the floor exercise and fifth on the balance beam, respectively, for the Level 4 team. Keen also scored a 9.1 on the vault, while Folds scored a 9.05. Both Keen and Folds are Greenville natives.
Greenville’s Anna Blake Langford, who competed in Level 5, placed third in the vault and the bars and fourth in the floor exercise and the all-around.
