Janie Bell Mitchell

Funeral services for Ms. Janie Bell Mitchell were held Sept. 10 at First Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Mixonville, Ala. Rev. J.F. Atkins officiated. Burial followed in First Mt. Zion Cemetery. Hudson Funeral Services, Greenville, Ala., directed. Ms. Mitchell was born Aug. 5, 1960 in Conecuh County to the late Oliver and Daisy Mae Mitchell. She attended Lyeffion High School where she graduated in 1978.
She was a member and attended First Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Mixonville. She remained a member until God took her home.
God blessed her with three children: one daughter, Altrice Mitchell, and two sons, Terrance Mitchell and Marcus Mitchell. God finally blessed her with a granddaughter, Ayanna Nyela Nimmo. Bell always wanted a grandchild. Bell was blessed with eight siblings.
She was preceded in death by her brother Nathaniel “Punk” Mitchell. She leaves behind six sisters: Margaret Nolan of Meridian, Miss., Annie Vera (Willie) Barber of Tallahassee, Fla., Iteria Lyman (Franklin) Frazier of Tallahassee, Fla., Emma Gandy of Evergreen, Ala., Virginia Rawls and Cheyenne Lymon, both of Brownville, Ala., Teresa Mitchell Persall, brother John D. (Rose) Mitchell, both of Tallahassee, Fla., a host of nieces, great-nieces, great-great nieces, nephews, great-nephews, great-great nephews, as well as, a host of close cousins and several close friends.
