Between the extreme summer heat and periodic heavy showers, it’s taken a bit longer than expected.
But Greenville YMCA Director Amanda Phillips is pleased to say the new roof for the facility is finished.
“We’ll be laying the carpet on Wednesday, and just a few days later, we will have more new equipment to move in,” Phillips said on Monday. Among the new equipment anticipated will be treadmills and spin bikes, which will allow the YMCA to offer Greenville’s first spinning classes.
According to Phillips, plans are in place to expand the fitness center to take up one side of the building, with classrooms and daycare facilities on the other side. The Y has remained open through the remodeling process.
“Once we get everything in place, we’ll be inviting everyone to a grand re-opening of our facility,” Phillips said.
