Charles Verble Beasley

Charles Verble Beasley, 56, a resident of Owego, NY, passed away on July 16, 2011 at Wright Patterson Air Force Hospital in Fairborne, Ohio.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Elizabeth Primitive Baptist Church in McKenzie, Alabama with Elder Wesley Little officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home directing.  The Beasley family will accept friends on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Georgiana, Alabama.  As a young adult, Charles attended Semmes Elementary School, Workman Middle School  and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Pensacola, Florida.  Upon graduation, Charles joined the United States Air Force and after 20 years of service retired with the rank of Master Sergeant.  An accomplishment that Charles was especially proud of was his opportunity to earn his Associate and Bachelor degrees from the University of Maryland and his Master degree from Troy State University all while he was stationed in SanVito Italy Air Station.  Charles was the first active duty personnel to earn three degrees while stationed at SanVito Italy Air Station.  Charles was devoted to his family and church.  Charles attended First Presbyterian Church in Owego, New York where he was also a Deacon.  Charles earned his 2nd Master from Phoenix, Arizona.   Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Verble and Nell Beasley.  He is survived by his Wife of 29 years: Mihwa Beasley, Owego, New York; Daughters: Heather Davis, Jonesboro, Arkansas, Yeonaah Roh Beasley, Owego, New York, and Haruyng Park Beasley, Owego, New York; Sons: Marcus Beasley, Jonesboro, Arkansas, Sumin Roh Beasley, Owego, New York, and Luke Roh Beasley, Owego, New York; Grandchildren: Kelsey, A.J., and Ethan Davis, all of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Cheyton Beasley, North Carolina; and Cousin: Wesley Hudson, Ravenna, Ohio.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Charles’ memory to Elizabeth Primitive Baptist Church c/o Tracey Bush, 1235 North Garland Road, McKenzie, Alabama 36456.  Online condolences may be made at www.johnsongeorgiana.com.
