Are you a proud pet parent who wants to show off your favorite canines, felines, equines, scaled or feathered friends?

Then remember this date: July 31. That is the deadline for photo submissions to the Butler County Humane Society’s Annual Pet Photo Contest.

“We will choose three winning photos to feature on the cover of our 2012 pet calendar,” said Annie Crenshaw, calendar chair for the BCHS.

“A number of runners-up will appear in our themed monthly collage photos. There is a $5 entry fee per photo, and you can submit as many photos as you want.”

Photo prints or photo disks, along with entry fee, address, phone and email should be sent to: Pet Photo Contest, Butler County Humane Society, P.O. Box 264, Greenville AL 36037.

Digital photos (high-resolution, please) can be emailed to anniecrenshaw@centurytel.net.

“Every year our calendar grows. We have wonderful stories about rescued animals that have found happy homes, fun pet facts, important dates and much more,” said Crenshaw.

Winners will be notified if their pet(s) are chosen for inclusion in the calendar. All monies made through entry fees and calendar sales will go to help animals in need in Butler County.
