McKenzie man arrested in child sex sting

A McKenzie man was one of 25 men arrested during a weeklong undercover operation in Pensacola, Fla., in which the suspects were accused of using the Internet to set up sexual encounters with children, according to the Pensacola Police Department.

Jason Halford, 36, 400 block of Crum St., McKenzie, Ala., was charged with using a computer to solicit parent/guardian consent, travel to meet/use computer to solicit guardian, and using a 2-way communication device to facilitate felony.

The sting included 30 officers from local, state and federal agencies and began June 20.
