Cousins receive degrees from AU

Butler County natives and cousins Christy Tanner and Justin Lowery are both recent graduates of Auburn University.
Tanner, a graduate of Greenville High School, received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
At Auburn University, she obtained her Master’s degree in Public Administration with concentration in community governance and nonprofit management. She is currently employed with Villa Hope, an international adoption agency, as their Auburn-area social worker. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Tanner and the granddaughter of Gertrude Tanner and the late Bobby Tanner, and Mr. and Mrs. Judson Garner and the late James M. Lowery.
Lowery, a graduate of Fort Dale Academy, received his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Auburn University in the spring of 2009. He recently received his second Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy and Soils. He is currently employed at the Birmingham Country Club in Birmingham.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Lowery and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Inabinet and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Judson Garner, the late James R. Lowery and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alton Pierce.
