George “Bob” Irvin Faulk

George “Bob” Irvin Faulk, age 88, a long time resident of Greenville, AL and current resident of Gulf Shores, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011.

Mr. Faulk was a highly decorated veteran of WWII, earning a Purple Heart for his service in the Normandy Campaign.  He was a recipient of the American Campaign and the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medals, and received numerous other awards and recognition over the course of his distinguished military career.

He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Ann Herring Faulk and 2nd wife, Billie Hart Faulk; son, Glenn Hart; and grandson, Michael Faulk.  Survivors include his sons, George “Mickey” Faulk, Huntsville and Bruce Faulk of Calif.; daughters, Laura Hart, Prattville and Robin Encarnacion of Texas; grandchildren, Jasper Faulk, Mason Faulk, McKenna Faulk, Devon Sistrunk, Nicole Sistrunk, Shanon Sistrunk, and C. J. Sistrunk; and great-grandchildren, Jack Faulk and Ben Faulk.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Pine Rest Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until time of service.  Interment will follow in Pine Rest Memorial Park.
