Bright Beginnings Pre-K is celebrating its 10th year in Butler County Schools with a birthday party from 5-6 PM prior to the regular April 21st meeting of the Butler County Board of Education at the Board Meeting Room. All current and former Bright Beginnings students and teachers from Greenville, McKenzie, and Georgiana are invited to attend as well as community supporters, task force members, and others.
Bright Beginnings was begun with 1 classroom serving 18 children in 2001-2002 and has grown to 5 classrooms serving 90 children annually. Grants totaling over $330,000 and tuition support the program.
Bright Beginnings Pre-K is a part of Alabama’s First Class Pre-K program which has ranked #1 nationally for quality Pre-K for the past four years (NIEER The State of Preschool Report, 2006-2009). Research proves that students who participate in a high quality Pre-K experience have greater success in school.
