A Lenten tradition returns to the Camellia City with a series of Lenten Services and Luncheons at Saint Thomas Episcopal Church. The Reverend Reid McCormick and his parishioners want to extend a special invitation to the community to join them for a time of prayer and reflection each Wednesday at noon, followed by a complimentary luncheon in the parish hall. Members of the Butler County Ministerial Association will serve as guest preachers during the services, McCormick said.
The schedule of speakers is as follows: March 16-Rev. Andy McClellan, First Baptist Church of Greenville; March 23-Rev. Harold Bordages of First United Methodist of Georgiana and Oak Grove Methodist; March 30–Rev. Felton Stewart, Greenville Church of God; April 6-Evangelist Carolyn Griffin, Warrior Ministries, and April 13-Rev. Reid McCormick of St. Thomas.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to join together as a community of faith, regardless of our denominational differences, to share in a time of worship and a fellowship meal,” said McCormick. The lunch will be provided by the St. Thomas Women of the Church.
