50 years ago: The Greenville High School Publicity Committee includes Richie Hartley, Cecilia Williamson, Carter Anthony, Kay Watts, Eddie Newton and Kay Shirley . . . the elegant Colonial lady who never deserted her post at the organ during the Camellia Show was Mrs. Alvin Mixon of Georgiana. Her music was a welcome addition, as was her authentic costume of sea-green taffeta . . . Sally Crenshaw and her two young sisters Annie and Mary found this human skull in a ditch by the side of the road as they were passing on the school bus. It was at the junction of Cedar Creek and the old Federal Road where Gary’s Stockade was once located in the pioneer days. It could easily have been the skull of an Indian . . . a local dentist judged the person approaching middle age at death and the teeth were in perfect condition . . . Mr. and Mrs. Eric O.
