Margie Braden Hux, age 70, a resident of Collins, Miss., and former resident of Greenville, died Thursday, February 3, 2011 at the home of her daughter Susan Tate in Luverne, after a battle with cancer. Graveside funeral services will be held in Magnolia Cemetery on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. with Brother Donald Yancey officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.
Margie was born in Ramer. She attended Troy State Nursing School and was a nurse for forty years. During her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling. She traveled to historical places like Vicksburg, Mississippi and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Her travels also took her twice to Israel. She was a compassionate and nurturing lady and will be greatly missed.
Margie was preceded in death by her mother Ruby Moody of Luverne, her husband, Donald Joseph Braden of Greenville and her son, James Evan Braden of Greenville. Survivors include her daughters Pamela Free of Greenville, Susan Tate (Terry) of Luverne, and Tammy Barg (Jeff) of Bradenton, Fla.; grandchildren Joshua Free, Sommer Tate, Carmen Tate, Katie Barg, Kristin Barg, and Sarah Barg ; great-grandchildren Alex Free and Austin Free, and a brother, James C Roper of Washington, Ga.
She is also survived by her husband, Murray Hux of Collins, Miss. and stepchildren Richard Boyd Hux of Seminary, Miss, Lydia Ann Cole of Collins Miss., Elizabeth Cheryl Lunsford of Raymond Miss., Martha Janell Pitts of Seminary, Miss., Donna Jean Reesman of Gainesville Ga., Rose Marie Hux of Collins Miss., Janice Dene Smith of Richton, Miss., Phillip Murray Hux of Collins, Miss.; 17 step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
