Poole graduates from Troy, pursues Masters

SPECIAL TO THE ADVOCATE

Aundrea Kristen Poole graduated from Troy University in December 2010 with her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and had received many awards for her hard work. Aundrea also took part in many organizations and activities.

These organizations include Kappa Delta Pi (Education Honor Society; president 2010-present), Association of Childhood Education International (2010 president), Student Council for Exceptional Children (2010 secretary), Omicron Delta Kappa (Honor Society), Phi Kappa Phi (Honor Society), Mortar Board (Honor Society), and Baptist Campus Ministries.

Aundrea tutored for the Troy Public Library for three years and was awarded the 2009 Troy Public Library Tutor of the Year Award for reaching the students she worked with as well as working hard to find ways to make learning fun for them. She also received the 2010 Outstanding Student Award from the Zeta Gamma chapter of Kappa Delta Pi for all of the effort she put into ensuring the organization reached all of its goals for the year. Kappa Delta Pi also chose her as the recipient of the 2010 R.H. Irwin Award as an education student that showed true dedication to her field of study.

Currently, Aundrea is pursuing her Masters in Elementary Education as well as staying active in the various organizations she loves so much.

Aundrea is the daughter of William and Lynn Poole. She is the granddaughter of the late Joe Neil Poole, the late Betty Ann Watson Poole, the late Bobby Tanner, and Trudy Tanner.
