GHS honor singers

Outstanding Choir Student auditions were held in Mobile, Al, Dec. 2, 2010. District 7 includes schools from Mobile through Butler County. Greenville High School had two students enter: David Caddell (left) and Alex Rossi (right). This was the first time that GHS had a winner for Male Outstanding Choir Student. David Cadell took the honor, with Alex Rossi as first runner-up. David will be competing at state level in Birmingham, Ala. on March 23. There will be seven district winnders competing for Alabama Male Outstanding Choir Student. Ms. Millie McDonald is the choral director at Greenville High School and Voice Teacher of David and Alex. Greenville High School has 5 students to participate in Honor Choir at Troy University on Jan. 14 and 15. The choir was under th direction of Dr. Earlene Rentz, guest clinician/composer.
The students were Alex Rossi, Zach Powell, David Caddell, Savannah Tucker and Chloe Langston.
The three seniors, Alezx, Zach and David, auditioned for scholarships. Zach Powell was presented a Vocal scholarship to Troy Unviersity, Alex Rossi was presented a Vocal Excellence scholarship and David Caddell was presented a Vocal Excellence Scholarhsip. The amount of money to be received by these students will be revealed at a later date.
These students are members of the Greenville High School Chorus under the direction of Ms. Millie McDonald.
