Can you carry a tune without need of a bucket? Have you got some smooth dance moves? Then you might want to consider auditioning for the upcoming edition of “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” the annual musical fundraiser for the Greenville Area Arts Council.
Open auditions for the Ritz Players are set for Thursday, Jan. 27 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Ritz Theatre in downtown Greenville.
“We ask that you bring your own accompaniment-a CD or a pianist, or perform a capella-and perform the song of your choice,” said Nancy Idland, executive director of the GAAC and director of the Ritz Players.
“If singing is not your strong point but you’re a good dancer, then come and show us your dance moves.”
While a number of “old favorites” who have performed in past shows will likely take the stage again this spring, Idland encourages talents new to the area-and those who have been here keeping their light under a bushel-to stop by and let their talent shine.
“This is a community production to raise funds to bring shows for the entire community to have the chance to enjoy-so come out and be a part of what has become a truly fun and enjoyable addition to our area,” said Idland.
