Relay For Life in Butler County kicks off Tuesday night, January 18 at the Wendell Mitchell Conference Center with plenty of refreshments and excitement to go around, says Relay chair Galahad Smith. The event is set to begin at 5:30 p.m.

“We want to see all our existing team captains and co-captains, and anyone who wants to form a team for the first time, join us. It’s an opportunity to sign up your team, get your team packet and learn all about Relay, one of our community’s biggest, best, most fun-filled events of the year,” said Smith.

Kick-off attendees will also get to vote for their favorite theme from these choices: Rustlin’ for a Cure, Carnival for a Cure, Rock Around the Clock for a Cure, Score a Cure or Masquerading for a Cure.

Door prizes, food, fun, information and inspiration are all on tap for the evening, Smith said.

Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society in their continued effort to raise awareness, assist cancer patients and their families, and to fund research in the search for a cure.
