CARNES, Mr. Horace T. “Jake”, 90, a resident of Brantley, AL died Friday, December 24, 2010.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 11 AM from Brantley Baptist Church with Rev. Mitch Mares and Rev. Travis Johnson officiating.

Interment  followed in Brantley Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. Carnes was preceded in death by his parents, Sam & Larretta Jayroe Carnes; a sister, Velma Lois Murphy; and three brothers, Palmer Carnes, Gaston Carnes, and Lloyd Carnes.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Susie Bailey Carnes; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna & Jeffrey Evans; two grandchildren, Travis Evans and Sarah Evans; and two sisters, LaRue Kelsoe and Ina Ruth Wallace.

Active pallbearers were Jeffrey Evans, Travis Evans, Donnie Bodiford, Bobby Hollis, Ronnie Ross and Mike Bailey.
