Medicine Shoppe owner Jones elected Civitans Dist. Governor

James Jones, owner of The Medicine Shoppe in Greenville, has been elected as governor of the Alabama and West Florida District of Civitan International, a nonprofit community service organization with nearly 40,000 members across 32 countries. Jones began his term on October 1, 2010.

As governor, he will represent and coordinate Civitan clubs across Alabama and West Florida to continue the organization’s mission of community service.

Jones has been an active volunteer with Civitan since 2006, and is very active in the Prattville and Camellia City Civitan Club.

He has also held many leadership positions within the organization, including President, Lieutenant Governor and District Convention Coordinator.

Civitan International is a nonprofit organization of volunteer clubs dedicated to community service, with a special emphasis on improving the lives of people with developmental disabilities.
