Want to celebrate the King of Rock n’ Roll’s upcoming birthday in high style? Then make plans to attend the Elvis Tribute Show coming up at 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan 8, 2011 at the historic Ritz Theatre in downtown Greenville.

Brad Bradley, a veteran Montgomery police officer, will be trading in his blues for a flashy rhinestone-studded jumpsuit as he brings his Las Vegas-styled show to the Camellia City.

“I’ve been doing Elvis for about seven years now at public events, and three or four years ago, I put together a band,” said Bradley.

“They are an awesome group of musicians who became known as the Memphis Show Band. To hear them play, I promise, you would swear you were listening to an Elvis concert.”

The eight-piece band, which includes a horn section, is backed up by two talented female singers, Bradley said.

“The Starletts have fantastic voices. They also come out and sing a couple of solos each to start the show. They perform for about 20 minutes to open the show,” Bradley said.

The Elvis portion of the show will last about 80 minutes, the performer says, with a non-stop performance “full of excitement, energy and lots of scarves and kisses given out.”

Bradley promises plenty of Elvis concert favorites and authenticity to his sound and his look.

“I always wear authentic replicas of Elvis’ jumpsuits and belts. These costumes are so expensive, I have learned to make them myself. It’s a lot of work, but worth it,” Bradley said.

“The suit I am in the process of making for this show will have well over 6,000 studs and rhinestones on it.”
