The holiday season is upon us and the city of Luverne and the Chamber of Commerce are preparing for the annual Christmas parade.
The parade is set for Saturday, Dec. 4 at 11 a.m.
The only entry fee for floats and other participants is a toy, which will be donated to the Department of Human Resources.
“This is going to be a good parade,” said Chamber president Martha Dickey. “We’ve got several floats, marching bands, school organizations, beauty queens and a lot of motorcycle riders.”
“I hope everyone shows up to watch, and I’d like to invite any business or church group to come be in the parade,” she added.

There will also be a Christmas tree lighting at the new pavillion in downtown Luverne on Thursday, Dec. 2 at 5:30 p.m.
Children will be able to help decorate the tree, and there will be caroling and hot chocolate available.
