The appointment of the newest member of the Butler County Board of Education is expected to take place at Thursday night’s regular board meeting, set for 6 p.m. at the Central Office Boardroom.

The announcement of Johnny Lee’s resignation of his position serving District 5, and the existence of the board member vacancy, is on the proposed agenda for the meeting, along with the appointment and swearing-in ceremony. The election of the BOE president and vice-president for the 2010-2011 board year is also planned.

The meeting is open to the public.
