Six qualified candidates will be interviewing with the Butler County Board of Education in early November, each hoping to be appointed to fill the vacancy in District 5 made by Johnny Lee’s resignation.
Sherri Paige; Bobby Wasden; Rebecca Oikle; Mickey Jones; Darrell Sanders, and Thomas Lowery have all thrown their hats into the ring.
The BOE voted Thursday night to hold interviews with the prospective appointees on Saturday, November 6 at the Central Office Boardroom. The interviews will start at 9 a.m. and run in half-hour intervals.
“These interviews are open to the public and we certainly hope you will attend and hear what these candidates have to say,” said BOE vice-president, Linda Hamilton.
Lee, who was honored with a reception prior to Thursday night’s meeting, will officially vacate his office at the November 18 regular board meeting,
