HHS sports news and school notes

The Squadron captured their first victory last Friday night against the Central Hayneville Lions. The Squadron defeated the Lions 47-0. On Monday night, the Lady Squadron volleyball team defeated the 5A Charles Henderson Trojans.
This victory marks the 2nd back to back victory over 5A schools. On Tuesday afternoon, the Lady Squadron volleyball team hosted regional opponents the Red Level tigers.
The Varsity and Junior Varsity teams both won marking the first area game and win. On Tuesday, the Junior Varsity football team traveled to Luverne to play their second game of the season. The Junior Varsity ended the game with a 14-14 tie against the Tigers.
With just a week until Homecoming, the Squadron will travel to Samson High School to take on the tigers. With one victory under the Squadron’s belt, they have every intention of defeating the tigers on Friday night.
The homecoming festivities will begin with color week.
On Tuesday everyone should wear blue, to show your “Squadron Pride”. On Wednesday everyone should wear black, to “Mourn the Gamecocks”. On Thursday everyone should wear white, to “White out the Gamecocks”. Friday will be dress up day.
The Homecoming assembly will begin at 1pm on Friday. The queen will be crowned that night at the football game. Camp stew and Barbeque orders are due by Friday September 3rd, prepaid orders only.
