Horsemanship Expo set for Saturday

Looking to learn the ins and outs of caring for and showing horses? Then make plans to attend Horsemanship Expo set for Saturday morning, August 21 in Greenville.
The free event is slated to kick off at 8 a.m. at the Timberland Log Home Site, right across from Tractor Supply Company, the expo sponsor.
The expo is designed to teach natural and basic methods to start all breeds and disciplines of horses the right way the first time, and will featured trainer Brian Jones working the western horses and Ashlyn McKeown riding Roxie, the show-jumping paint mare.
The morning will begin with a demonstration of starting a green colt in a round pen (8 to 8:45 a.m.), followed by a beginners’ show jumping demo in the English style (9 to 9:45 a.m.), a 60-day colt demonstration with a working cow horse (11 to 11:45 a.m.), and will conclude with a demonstration of tack and equipment for all disciplines, basic horse care, questions and answers from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Attendees will also be able to meet the stars of the show.
Air conditioned restrooms will be provided by Timberland Log Homes.
