National weather service issues heat advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory until 7 p.m. today.
Strong high pressure over much of the central Gulf Coast region will give way to another round of hot weather, resulting in heat indices ranging from 108 to 110 degrees for many areas, including areas near the coast.
This may create dangerous conditions for people working outdoors or for those more susceptible to heat-related health problems.
The NWS suggests drinking plenty of fluids, staying in an air-conditioned room and out of the sun, and checking on friends and neighbors.
