NOAA has issued a weather advisory for today due to high heat and humidity.

Afternoon highs are expected to be in the mid- to upper 90s, which will combine with elevated humidity to bring the heat index to between 100 and 105 degrees.

Areas affected by this include Crenshaw County, along with southeast Mississippi, southwest Alabama and the northwest Florida panhandle.

Urban areas may see the heat index rise even higher.

Those working outdoors and those not accustomed to the heat should take appropriate precautions.
