Mavis Brown Cauthen
CAUTHEN, Mrs. Mavis Brown, 80, a resident of Lapine died Monday May 31, 2010 after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Thursday June 3, 2010 at New Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. William Leverette and Rev. Scott Watson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mrs. Cauthen is preceded in death by her parents, General and Belle Meredith Brown; two sisters, Dorothy King and Grace Mullins; and a brother, Glen Brown.
Survivors include her husband of almost 60 years, Grady C. Cauthen; one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Beverley Cauthen; two grandsons, Derek Cauthen and Blake Cauthen; two sisters, Luthenia Smith and Faynell Posey; three brothers, Reginald (Florence) Brown, Kenneth (Patsy) Brown and Henry T. (Dean) Brown; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Timothy Brown, Jamie Brown, Trent Brown, Randall Brown, Lendell Smith and Frank Brown.
Loretta Stubbs Ray
Ray, Ms. Loretta Stubbs, 63, a resident of Luverne died Saturday May 29, 2010.
Graveside services will be 10 am Thursday June 3, 2010 at Rutledge Cemetery with Rev. William Leverette officiating and Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Ms. Ray is preceded in death by her parents, Emory and Beatrice Stubbs and a brother, Billy Stubbs.
Survivors include three sons, James Kiser, Kenneth Nelson and Thomas Lee Miele; four grandchildren and one great grandchild; five sisters, Martha Faulk, Linda Morris, Elizabeth Watson, Ruby Everett and Sylvia Askew; and two brothers, Emory M. Stubbs, Jr. and Emory Wayne Stubbs.
Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Wilson, Josh Hartin, Tyler Jordan, Taylor Jordan, Mickey Stubbs, Michael Stubbs and Ethan Wilson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 8:30 am until 9:30 am.
