For the second year in a row, a teacher from Fort Dale Academy has been named the top high school teacher in the Alabama Independent School Association.
Marcia Davis was recognized as Secondary Teacher of the Year during the awards ceremony of the AISA-AAA meeting held in early May. FDA’s Starla Jones received the award last year.
“This is a tremendous honor, as there are literally hundreds of educators in the state who teach in AISA schools,” said FDA headmaster David Brantley.
“We are very pleased that one of our own was once again recognized for her hard work and dedication to her job.”
Davis teaches Biology, Advanced Biology, Anatomy and 7th grade Science, and also serves as a Senior Class Sponsor.
Another current FDA teacher, Pat Skipper, was Secondary Teacher of the Year in 1998.
