A salute to some of south Butler County’s finest citizens and recognition of award-winning students will take place Thursday, April 22 in Georgiana. The Georgiana Garden Club is hosting its annual Arbor Day Celebration at 1:30 p.m. at the Garden Club’s Log Cabin.
“We will plant a tree in honor of 10 citizens from Georgiana and McKenzie who have made a positive difference in their communities,” said GGC president Suzy Shepherd.
“We will also be giving out awards to our area National Garden Club Youth Contest winners in the Smokey Bear/Woodsy Owl Poetry and Essay Contests. So this will be a very special day for our club and our community.”
Refreshments will be served at the cabin following the event and the public is invited to attend, Shepherd said.
