Lillie D. Thomas, 89, a resident of Greenville, died on Sunday, February 21, 2010 in Jasper. Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 25, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Harvill officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. The family received friends on Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.
Mrs. Thomas was a graduate of Greenville High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Winston Sherman Thomas. She is survived by son, Jim Newton Thomas (Deanne) of Jasper, grandsons: Winston Crawford “Ford” Thomas of Madison, Miss., Aubrey James “AJ” Thomas of Jasper, brother: Cedric Newton of Mobile, several brothers-in-law, several sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. The family request that donations be made to the Hopewell Baptist Church, 532 Wildfork Road, Greenville, AL 36037.
