Elma Shell Sawyer, 83, a resident of Georgiana, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010 after an extended illness. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 from the Brushey Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Harvill officiating. Burial in church cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana directing. Survivors include daughters: Joyce (David) Orr, Phenix City and Judy Griffin, Georgiana; sons: Larry (Helen) Shell and Lloyd (Lauren) Shell, both of Georgiana; brother: Alton Boswell, McKenzie; eight grand children, nine great-grandchildren. Visitation was at the church from 1 p.m. until funeral time.
