Emily Claire Till

Emily Claire Till Willis, born February 2, 1946 in Greenville, and a resident of Mobile for 40 years, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2010 in her home. Mrs. Willis was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ridley Willis Jr., and her parents Ples Napoleon and Mildred Newton Till of Greenville. She is survived by her stepchildren, Frank R. Willis III, Ann Salisbury, both of Mobile, Charlotte Luchenbill of Kewadin, Michigan and Patrick A. Willis of Slidell, La.; seven grandchildren, an aunt, Autherine Newton of Greenville, friend, Vickie H. McCrory and numerous cousins and her many dogs and cats. Mrs. Willis was a graduate of Greenville High School and the University of Montevallo.
She was employed by Oldham Chemical Company for 23 years. Claire enjoyed reading, gardening, being with her family and friends as well as her many church activities.
Visitation will held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2010 with the funeral services following from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Cypress Shores Baptist Church Building Fund or to your favorite charity in memory of Mrs. Claire T. Willis. Acknowledgments may be addressed to: Family of Claire Willis, 3675 Government Blvd. #E, Mobile, AL 36693. Rev. Randy Johnson will officiate the services, active pallbearers will be Peter Ford, Keith McCrory, William McCrory II, Tim McGugin, Bill Holcombe and Tim Reed.
Honorary pallbearers will be Harlan Billingsley, Jesse Miller, Millard Oldham, Tommy Reeves, Dr. Kenner Rice, Hank Robison and Leo Reveille. Arrangements handled through Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
