Greenville Elementary School and McKenzie School will be receiving window replacements and HVAC systems to make them more energy efficient, with no cost to the Board of Education.
The expense will be covered by part of an Energy Conservation Grant awarded to the system.
The board voted to give permission to advertise for bids for the projects at their regular meeting last Thursday.
Additional action taken by the board included:
– Permission granted to the City of Georgiana to use the Butler County Magnet School Gym during hours when school is not in session.
– Permission granted to the BCMS PTO to relocate playground equipment from R.L. Austin to BCMS. The PTO has also agreed to refurbish the equipment.
– A special called meeting of the Butler County BOE is set for 3 p.m., January 27 to hear the exit report by the SACS team.
