If you haven’t visited the Piggly Wiggly in Greenville in a while, there have been some big changes.
“We are basically new from top to bottom,” said store manager Wesley Nichols.
Gleaming new cooler units, all-new shelving and new wall graphics give the store a fresh, bright and clean look.
Other things have changed in the grocery store, which started out decades ago in the Family Dollar/Pizza Pro building next door, before moving into its present location, the former A&P on Cedar Street.
“We’ve also expanded our production lines across the board – more meats, produce, frozen foods, canned goods. We have more specialty foods now and just a much better selection overall for our customers,” Nichols said.
Nichols, who spent 11 years in the grocery business in Georgiana before moving to the Greenville store last May, says many of his customers have made positive comments about the store’s new look and expanded selection.
“Some folks haven’t been here in a while and they are really surprised to see we have remodeled. We want people to know what we have right here where it is convenient to shop,” said Nicholas. “It’s a good location for people who live and work in the surrounding area. A lot of people just aren’t comfortable driving out on the By-Pass anymore.”
