Mary Joyce Wallace, a 40-year resident of Georgiana, passed away on December 21, 2009. She is preceded in death by her husband Ray Wallace and grandson John David Wallace.
Mary is survived by her son, Ray Wallace Jr., her granddaughter, Laquesa Wallace; two of her brothers, William Huggins and Carl Huggins, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Wallace held the position of president for the Hank Williams International Fan Club for over 20 years. Mary was also responsible for many of the Hank Williams memorial tributes visible today. Mary was employed by the City of Georgiana Nutrition Center and enjoyed her work there. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Mary was a loving, caring mother and grandmother, a devoted aunt and a wonderful friend to thousands. She is deeply mourned and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service honoring Mary will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at 2 pm.
