Parade highlights citywide holiday events

The Camellia City is getting ready for the season in grand holiday style, with Santa sightings, holiday crafts, festive floats and shopping opportunities abounding.
*Breakfast with Santa and Holiday Bazaar is set for W.O. Parmer Elementary on Saturday, November 28 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Enjoy visiting with Kris Kringle and browse the holiday buys. For more information, call 382-8720.
-City Christmas Parade: The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce brings you “Christmas, Alabama Style” for the 2009 edition of the annual Christmas Parade down Commerce St. on Thursday, December 3. The parade kicks off at 6:30 p.m.; Christmas caroling, concessions and more along with the annual tree lighting begin at 5 p.m.
-Breakfast with Santa at Beeland Park: If you missed breaking bread with Saint Nick at W.O. Parmer, enjoy spending time with him between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Saturday, December 5 at the Beeland Park Rec Center. The event is sponsored by the Greenville Parks and Recreation Department.
-YMCA Holiday Market: Love to shop? Then check out arts, crafts and much more at the Community Holiday Market between 8 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 5 at the Greenville YMCA.
-Downtown Holiday Shopping: More Christmas shopping opportunities arrive on Thursday, December 10 in downtown Greenville. Several shops will stay open extended hours; visit Santa’s reindeer, warm up with some delicious hot chocolate and listen to the sweet and festive sound of Christmas carols!
