Sweet Potato Festival: The Butler County Optimist Club is holding its annual Sweet Potato Festival from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., November 7, 2009 at the Butler County Fairgrounds.

GHS Fall Play: Greenville High School will stage its production of “Caught in the Act,” on Thursday, Nov. 12, Saturday, Nov. 14, and Sunday, Nov. 15. The Thursday and Saturday productions start at 7 p.m., while the Sunday production starts at 2 p.m. An admission cost will be charged.

Dry Goods, Closet Giveaway: The College St. Church of Christ will host a dry goods and closet giveaway for the needy on Nov. 14 at 7 a.m.

Safe Harbor Box Lunch: The Butler County Children’s Advocacy Center/Safe Harbor will have a box lunch delivery of the Chicken Shack’s famous chicken salad on Nov. 19. Greenville Christmas Parade: The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the annual Greenville Christmas Parade on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m. in downtown Greenville. The theme this year is “Christmas, Alabama Style.” Entries will be allowed to throw candy as long as the rules stated on the application are followed.
