GHS moves up to No. 2, FDA remains No. 1

Greenville’s close contest against Chilton County didn’t effect the Tigers position in the polls.

In fact, the Tigers, No. 3 last week, moved up one more notch to No. 2 in the Class 5A poll released by the Alabama Sports Writers Association on Wednesday.

The Tigers benefited from Hartselle’s first loss of the year. Last week, Hartselle was the No. 2 team in the polls.

Greenville won in the final minutes of last Friday night’s game against Chilton County, 28-21.

Fort Dale Academy remained No. 1 in AISA. The Eagles are off this Friday night and will host Prattville Christian next week in the first round of the AISA Class AAA state playoffs.

McKenzie heads into its season-ending showdown against Butler County Magnet School ranked No. 8 in the state. The Tigers have already secured a first-round playoff game at home in Class 1A.
