A showcase for some of the county’s most talented artists and craftspeople and an early opportunity to shop for the holidays is coming to downtown Greenville in November.
The Fine Arts League of Greenville is holding its Holiday Art Show on Saturday, November 7 inside the Whitney Bank’s downtown location. Hours will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day.
“There are several businesses holding holiday open houses in town that day, and we want to give people even more reason to shop and enjoy our beautiful downtown,” said League member Shirley Roberson.
Visitors can expect festive decorations, a Christmas tree with hanging arts items, seasonal music, apple cider and finger foods – and lots and lots of artwork and handcrafts, Roberson promises.
Watercolor, oil and acrylic paintings, mixed media work and pen-and-ink drawings will all be featured, along with fine art photography, stained glass nativity figures and ornaments, decorative blown eggshell and crocheted ornaments, handcrafted jewelry, note cards, personalized children’s books and more.
Customers can also sign up for a drawing for a piece of art to be given away.
Anyone with questions and/or an interest in participating in the show should contact Shirley Roberson at 382-5227, Barbara Middleton at 382-2639 or Dale Gates at 210-5845.
