Theron Robert Lang, born July 29, 1922, passed away on September 27, 2009. He was a long time resident of Pleasant Hill, Ala. He was born in Lawrence County, Ala., the son of William and Millie A. Lang. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 30, at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family received friends on September 29, from 6—8 p.m. at the church.
After graduation from Lawrence County High School, he attended Auburn University where he graduated with a degree in Agriculture and was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. After moving to Pleasant Hill, he operated W.R. Lang & Sons Hereford Ranch with his father and brother. Later he owned and operated Lang’s Lucky Dollar General Store until his retirement. Mr. Lang was a member and deacon at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a member of the Masons for 66 years. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, his motorcycle and was an avid Auburn fan.
Mr. Lang was preceded in death by his parents, William & Millie A. Lang and brothers, Doyle and Billy Lang. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Henry Lang, daughter, Penny (Johnny) Till, son, Charles “Buddy” (Melissa) Lang, grandchildren, Angie (Ken) Barlow, Dan (Tammy) Till, Josh Till, Joy Lang, Austin Lang, Jessica Lang, great-grandchildren, Lizzy & Trey Barlow, Zach, Drew, and Anna Grace Till.
